Is FIRE & Free really free?
Yes. All articles, calculators and the newsletter are free. We keep costs out of the content because fees and bias are exactly what FIRE teaches you to avoid.
Is this financial advice?
No — everything here is educational content. We show our assumptions, cite the math and flag risks, but your situation is yours. Do your own research and consider a fee-only advisor for personal decisions.
I'm a total beginner. Where do I start?
Read What is FIRE? first, then run your numbers in the FI Retirement Calculator. Then read the four foundational articles in order — savings rate, 4% rule, investing, frugality.
How often do you publish new articles?
At least one in-depth article a week, plus a short newsletter on Sundays. Subscribers get new pieces before they hit the blog.
